No.87 - Horween & Badalassi Carlo

£300.00
sold out

(Only 1 Available)

The No.87 is a more traditional billfold wallet, designed with a horizontal pocket layout, providing 4 card slots, 2 inner pockets and a large billfold pocket. The wallet can accommodate most currencies, though some taller notes, such as the higher denomination Euros, will need to be folded once. This particular No.87 is made with a combination of leathers: Horween’s Shell Cordovan and Badalassi Carlo’s Minerva.

Taking up to 6 months to make, Genuine Horween Shell Cordovan is a pure, vegetable-tanned leather, rich in oils and waxes, with a smooth, glazed surface. The recipe has not changed since 1905 and is still made by the Horween family’s 5th generation tanners. Shell Cordovan has a unique set of properties when compared to other types of leather. It is resistant to creasing and is made from a dense fibre structure, a membrane found in the hind quarters of equine species.

Badalassi Carlo’s Minerva is also a pure, vegetable tannage that is aniline-dyed in a barrel and finished with a smooth surface.

  • Exterior Leather: Horween Shell Cordovan

  • Interior Leather: Badalassi Carlo Minerva

  • Handstitched with Japanese bonded Nylon thread

  • Colours: Armagnac & Castagno (Dark Browns with Red undertones)

  • Dimensions: Approximately 24cm x 8.4cm (When open)

  • I recommend carrying up to 12 cards. The leather can stretch to accommodate more, however, it will not contract back.

  • Leather will patina with time and use, darkening in colour, whilst developing a rich and lustrous surface. Friction, oils from skin, and exposure to sunlight will accelerate this process. Consistent handling should keep most leathers naturally conditioned. If you wish to condition your leather goods, I suggest either a natural leather balm or Saphir Renovating Cream.
